Waterfalls in Malaysia
Southeast Asia
The waterfalls of Malaysia are some of the most pristine and largest in Southeast Asia. These magnificent cascades of water provide refreshing scenery to calm sore eyes and soothe frayed nerves. Depending on its location, the waterfall may be completely pristine (due to difficult accessibility) or terribly polluted (too close to major cities with easy access on road). Some waterfalls can then be tiny, flowing into shallow pools, or immense in stature, towering as high as hills.
Most of the best waterfalls are found in Pahang and Perak, but there are captivating ones to be discovered in other states as well. The best time to explore these natural sensations is during calm or sunny weather, where the cool waters is perfect for a swim and crystal clear to the eyes. Heavy rains will often silt the water, turning the beautiful fall into a gushing torrent of sand and murky water. The volume of water also swells up incredibly during this time, and depending on which place, can prove to be quite dangerous. |
