In 2009, we conducted a 3-week long herping tour to the Cameron Highlands and Pulau Tioman. This was the longest duration of any tour we've done ever, so we had many new experiences during this time which we were not exposed to before on our usually short trips. We uncovered the usual range of snakes, frogs and insects from the Cameron Highlands, covering various elevations. The main highlight was, of course, Pulau Tioman. Touted as an ecological paradise for herpefauna, we were not disappointed in finding different kinds of reptiles and amphibians, though not as much as we hoped for. With the experience gained from organising this tour and the promising results, we plan to start some special herping and wildlife tours to
Tioman in the near future.
